Last week saw the return of the Hotel, Restaurant & Catering (HRC) show to the ExCel for a vibrant three-day event. As always, our team was on the ground in numbers to network with suppliers and manufacturers across the hospitality industry.

Some of the highlights from the show:

UNOX

UNOX demonstrated their new Speed-X model, the world’s first self-cleaning, accelerated cooker combination oven. The new system combines fan, microwave and steam technologies into a single oven capable of delivering reduced cooking times. In Hyper-Speed mode, the Speed-X model can cook ratatouille, chicken drumsticks, sea bass fillets and artichokes in only 210 seconds or even a whole sea bass on a bed of potatoes in just 330 seconds.

Valentine Fryers

Valentine Fryers (CuisineEquip) demonstrated their new innovative air frying unit, ‘LightFry’, bringing the technological benefits of domestic air fryers into the commercial arena. Compared to traditional commercial deep fat fryers, the ‘LightFry’ uses less fat, is easier to clean, safer, and is more energy efficient.

Falcon

Falcon displayed a unique gas range that can run on Hydrogen, which is ready for UK network trials later this year.

Hydrogen has the potential to provide a low or zero-carbon source of energy to the national grid. The government has committed to ensuring the UK has 10 GigaWatts of domestic hydrogen production by 2030. It is expected that half of this capacity will come from renewable sources.

Partstown UK

Partstown UK: First Choice Group & Commercial Catering Spares (CCS) came together for the first time under their all-new Partstown UK branding.

All in all, a fantastic couple of days of networking with colleagues and industry partners. We’re already looking forward to doing it all again next year.
