Last week the team took some well-deserved time out of the office to visit the 2021 Commercial Kitchen show at the ExCel in London.
As well as the Commercial Kitchen Show, we took the opportunity to look around the Lunch! and Casual Dining Shows (and not just for the fantastic selection of free food samples, honest!). After such a long time away from large scale hospitality events like this one, it was lovely to be able to feel the buzz and energy of an industry getting back on its feet.
While the team took time to check out the latest industry cooking innovations and offerings, it was wonderful to feel optimism and energy throughout the halls. As the sales team got technical with new products, the marketing team were raving about the striking branding of the many authentic food and drink products on offer. The sights, smells, and sounds made us forget that this was supposed a day at work.
We made sure that we took the opportunity to catch up with industry partners and colleagues. Hearing first-hand about peoples experiences over the past 18 months made us realise how hard the hospitality industry has been hit. Still, the determination to move forward and thrive was clear.
And to top off an enjoyable day, we may have accidentally ventured into a pub for a well-deserved drink. Purely, in the name of networking, of course!
