Wednesday saw the Certa Service team hosting our inaugural Golf Day at the stunning Centurion Club in St Albans. Designed to bring together employees, clients, and partners, it provided networking opportunities, competition, and fundraising support for Help For Heroes.

After an early start for many, the all-important breakfast rolls were quickly polished off before a day of enthusiastic participation from 24 golfers making up six teams. Each group played in a stableford format, encouraging collaboration and strategy among teammates.

The atmosphere was friendly yet predictably ‘industry’ competitive as teams vied for bragging rights as challenges were organised throughout the day. These included longest drive and closest to the pin competitions, with participants also invited to donate funds to Help for Heroes in return for a drive taken by our very own big-hitting MD Dan Loria.

Laughter echoed as teams navigated the course, celebrating great shots and the occasional wayward drive. The beautiful scenery and course layout added to the enjoyment. Spirits were high as the sun set, and the final teams returned to the clubhouse.

The day concluded with a dinner and prize-giving ceremony, where the tournament and individual winners were recognised. Andy Sexton (Certa Service), Max Smith (Hoshizaki), Glenn Roberts (Winterhalter), and Jayson Ball (Salix) took home bragging rights and prizes with an impressive score of 94. Closest to the pins competitions were won by Ryan Clark (Aggora), Richard White (Berkeley Projects) and Glenn Roberts (Winterhalter), while Matt Black (South East Commercial Kitchens) took the longest drive plaudits.

Participants left the course having built more robust connections with colleagues and clients alike. We are excited to host this event again next year, continuing the tradition of fostering a sense of community and togetherness among our team and external partners.

Rational Certa Golf Day

A special thank you goes out to Sean Carmichael and the team at Rational UK who kindly sponsored the nearest the pin competition. And not forgetting the staff at Centurion Club, who worked tirelessly to make the day possible, providing the exceptional hospitality and service for which they are renowned.
