Dan and Andy recently enjoyed the IOD Armed Forces Covenant & Apache Helicopter Tour, hosted by the 6 Reg Army Air Corps (AAC) at Wattisham Flying Station in Suffolk. A fantastic day, full of insight and some long-overdue networking.
They heard from Lt Col Andrew Bushby, who briefed the audience on the benefits a reservist can bring to employers. He explained why the Armed Forces Covenant is so good for businesses with ex-service personnel having high levels of transferable skills. Along with their experience working in a pressurised environment, they represent a wise choice for future employers. As engineers ourselves, we understand how valuable these attributes are within the workforce.
The morning culminated in an exclusive guided tour of the station, followed by a rare opportunity to get up close to the impressive Apache helicopter. We’re always up for a challenge, but even we would know where to start servicing one of those!
